At Torrance Motors, we take pride in the quality of our workmanship and the reliability of the parts we provide. To maintain clarity and protect both our customers and our shop, the following warranty terms apply to all services performed.

By authorizing repairs and accepting services from Torrance Motors, you acknowledge and agree to the terms below:

1. Warranty Coverage

  • Torrance Motors provides a 12-month or 12,000-mile limited warranty, whichever comes first, on new parts and labor supplied and installed by our shop, unless otherwise specified in writing.
  • For used parts supplied by Torrance Motors, we provide a 90-day limited warranty covering parts and labor for defects in internal components.
  • Customer-supplied parts are excluded from all warranty coverage. There is no warranty, express or implied, on customer-provided parts or labor associated with them. The customer assumes full responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and condition of any parts they supply.

2. Used Engines

  • For used engines supplied by Torrance Motors, we provide a 90-day limited warranty covering internal engine components only, such as pistons, crankshaft, camshafts, cylinder head, and internal bearings.
  • External accessories and components — including but not limited to the alternator, starter motor, A/C compressor, power steering pump, sensors, belts, and hoses — are not covered under the used engine warranty and are typically reused from the original vehicle.
  • Proper maintenance is required (see Section 3). Failure to maintain or monitor engine operation will void this warranty.

3. Maintenance and Immediate Reporting

  • To maintain warranty coverage, customers are required to:
    • Perform regular maintenance, including oil changes, at manufacturer-recommended intervals, or at a minimum, every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first.
    • Immediately report any oil leaks, fluid leaks, overheating, abnormal noises, loss of power, smoke, warning lights, or recurrence of prior issues to Torrance Motors.
    • Do not continue to drive or operate the vehicle if any of these symptoms are present. Operating the vehicle in such conditions, even for short distances, may cause severe damage and will void the warranty in full.
    • Allow Torrance Motors the opportunity to inspect and address any concerns to preserve warranty eligibility.

4. Warranty Claims and Unauthorized Repairs

  • All warranty claims must be brought directly to Torrance Motors. We must inspect and, if necessary, perform corrective work.
  • No repairs may be performed elsewhere without prior written authorization from Torrance Motors. Unauthorized third-party repairs will void any existing warranty coverage, and we will not reimburse any external repair costs under any circumstances.
  • In the event of a warranty concern, you must allow Torrance Motors reasonable opportunity to address the issue before seeking outside service.

5. Exclusions and Limitations

The following are not covered under this warranty:

  • Customer-supplied parts and any labor associated with their installation.
  • Normal wear and tear, maintenance services, adjustments, or consumables (e.g., filters, belts, fluids).
  • Failures due to neglect, misuse, abuse, racing, overloading, or operation of the vehicle after warning signs appear (such as noises, leaks, overheating, dashboard alerts).
  • Pre-existing conditions or unrelated component failures.
  • Damage caused by continued operation after a fault develops.
  • Incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to towing, rental vehicles, loss of use, downtime, or transportation costs.
  • Accessories and external components reused from the original vehicle (e.g., alternators, starters, sensors, hoses, belts).

6. Transferability

  • This warranty applies only to the original customer and is not transferable to subsequent owners or third parties.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

To initiate a warranty claim:

  • Contact Torrance Motors immediately.
  • Stop operating the vehicle and arrange for inspection at our facility.
  • We will assess and, if eligible, perform necessary repairs under warranty.
